Dr. Cecilia Schmidt-Sarosi

Dr. Cecilia Schmidt-Sarosi is Medical Director of the Offices for Fertility and Reproductive Medicine (OFRM) and the Arthur Reich Professor of Obstetrics/Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility at New York University School of Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and its Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and a certified fertility specialist. At her Manhattan, New York fertility clinic, Dr. Schmidt-Sarosi offers comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of infertility and female hormonal problems.

Dr. Cecilia Schmidt-Sarosi is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine. She completed her Obstetrics/Gynecology residency and her Clinical and Research Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology Infertility at New York University Medical Center. Her pioneering work in IVF and New York assisted reproductive technologies (ART) began in 1982 as a faculty member at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, one of the first three IVF facilities in the United States. She then established successful IVF Centers at the University of Connecticut (1985-1986), the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (1986-1991), New York University (1991-1995), and the Offices for Fertility and Reproductive Medicine (1995-present). She also helped to initiate New York egg donation programs at the last three of these centers and was responsible for the first successful pregnancy on the east coast using donor oocytes. She has authored numerous research articles and book chapters in the area of endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, infertility treatment, and assisted reproductive technology.

Dr. Cecilia Schmidt-Sarosi is well respected by her patients, students, and colleagues, and has received numerous awards and citations for her patient care, teaching, lectures and clinical research. Dr. Schmidt-Sarosi was even recognized by New York Magazine as one of the best physicians in New York. She has sat on the New York State Living Donor Tissue Technical Advisory Group, and has served as president of the New York Gynecological Society. She has served as the Vice-Chair of the College of American Pathologists/American Fertility Society, Reproductive Biology Resource Committee, and is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology.

Peter Sarosi, M.D.

Dr. Peter Sarosi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and its Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and a certified fertility specialist. At OFRM in New York, Dr. Sarosi offers treatment for a variety of fertility problems, including both female and male factor infertility. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and an active member of the Endocrine Society. Dr. Sarosi is also a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons.

Dr. Peter Sarosi received his medical degree from the Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest, Hungary, and completed his specialized Obstetrics/Gynecology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Dr. Sarosi received his fellowship training in the area of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at New York University-Bellevue Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Sarosi is also a published author.

Dr. Peter Sarosi is a pioneer in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). Along with other fertility specialists, he performed the first successful Gamete Intra-Fallopian Tube transfer (GIFT) procedure in New York City.
