In a city where couples have jobs which require out-of-town travel, semen may need to be frozen to allow for fertile cycles to be completed. Alternatively, a man may have a problem producing a sample "on demand" or may have such low sperm counts that freezing allows for preservation of multiple samples.
Because infertility treatment with IVF often results in multiple embryos, some of which may not be transferred during the final stage of treatment, we offer embryo cryopreservation. We encourage patients to consider freezing and storing extra embryos at our Manhattan fertility clinic for use at a later date. That way, if initial infertility treatment is unsuccessful, or if patients are considering more than one pregnancy, the stored embryos will be available for transfer later on.
